Over the last few weeks we have been judging the short listed books.
My personal favourite was the book Make Believe, this wasn’t the winning book though, I thought it had really REALLY good illustration and had optic illusions. This was also the Carey choice. I gave the book a 24/30. The winner was Sorry Day. This was my 2nd favourite book.
I think that a good information book has good illustration, so that you really can see what the people in the book can see. Detailed, colourful drawings.
A clear layout, so you can see the photo behind and still be able to read the text, so that it is creative and attractive.
And finally lots of good information, so that when you read you know something new, not to much information that it leaves you thinking wait..? what? So you don’t have a headache. Just enough.
What was your favourite book and why?
